I always thought the stereotype of sorority girls were these stepford wife/ hyper-domestic type. 

So tonight after my meeting with the new members I went to do my laundry. Maybe it’s just because my mom is a laundry nazi, but my mom always pre-treated and soaked our clothes before she actually washed it. So today, I left my whites soaking in oxi-clean and detergent to make sure they came out crisp- wear dingy and faded frat tanks to class? Doubt it. 

Fifteen minutes later I get a text from our house manager: Did you fuck up the washing machine?

Five minutes later appears a listserve post from our president: Does anyone know whats going on with the washing machines? One is totally flooded and one has clothes sitting in it. I have no clean clothes :(

As if that wasn’t enough, the former president makes a remark about what budget will cover the cost to fix the deranged machines and I’m getting people knocking on my door asking me how I broke the machine. 

I lept off my big’s futon and fled down to the laundry room… are you serious?

Everything is completely fine. One washer has my darks sitting in it while beside it are my whites soaking in water with the lid up… nothing is flooded. Nothing is broken. 

What do you mean you soak your clothes? I’ve never heard of that before. 

Excuse me, what?

At least I know my friends won’t be getting MRS degrees.
